Rev Daniel Ivor EVANS [Parents] [scrapbook] "Ivor" was born in 1900 in Llanelli CMN. He died in 1965 in Long Bredy DOR. He married Muriel DEWSBERRY in 1932 in Llanelli CMN St Peters Church . Daniel was employed as a Clergyman.
After serving in the Royal Naval Air Service (later the Fleet Air Arm) in the first world war, Ivor Evans went to America to seek his fortune, didn’t find it and returned to Britain. He went into the Church, studying at Lampeter College. When he qualified, he married Muriel Dewsberry, Doris’s sister (both weddings were at St Peter’s Church, Llanelli). He had a living in Abercynon and later moved to various places including Nottingham and eventually Long Bredy, Dorset.

M i Captain David Dewsberry EVANS [scrapbook] was born on 2 Dec 1933 in Pontypridd GLA. He died on 3 Jun 1960 in Nisab Aden. The cause of death was Shooting. David was employed as a Army Officer.
David Dewsberry trained at Sandhurst and was the holder of a commission in the Royal Artillery. In 1960 he had been sent to Aden to assist local forces who sought help in dealing with large numbers of terrorists who were ensconced on the local hills when he was shot defending one of his own men. A plaque to his memory was put up in his father's church at Long Bredy in Dorset.

Richard DEWSBERRY [Parents] [scrapbook] was born on 14 Mar 1841 in Burslem STS. He died on 24 May 1906 in Llanelly Pottery. The cause of death was Heart Attack . He was buried in Llanelli CMN Box Cemetery . He married Mary GILMORE on 28 Mar 1864 in Burslem STS Bethel Chapel. Richard was employed as Owner manager in Llanelly Pottery.
Richard Dewsberry was the Dewsberry in Guest and Dewsberry who re-opened the Llanelly Pottery in 1877. He had come to Llanelli to help his uncle David Guest revive the business which had been closed for two years due to the financial problems of its previous owners Coombs and Holland. He became a leading member of the Liberal Club, Park Church and the Llanelli Mechanics Institute (later the Public Library) and was described in his obituary as “one of our most respected townsmen” who "took a deep interest in educational matters". He suffered for many years from heart trouble before he collapsed and died at work in 1906.
